Once or twice a year, the Suffolk County Police Department allows county residents the opportunity to join the Citizen's Police Academy. Scenario role playing, emergency vehicle training and firearms demonstrations are just part of the program. "The Citizens Police Academy is a natural fit for Leadership Huntington graduates as well as anyone interested in the workings of the Suffolk County Police Department, particularly with the gun violence now taking place on our streets that prompted the shuttering of Jack Abrams school and its ripple affect across all communities," says Leadership Vice President, Mark Mediavilla. "I highly recommend the program."
