He noted the current class has coined a catch phrase for the organization, "Ordinary People, Extraordinary Citizens: Leadership Huntington". "Use it all you want," he quipped, "just make sure you give me credit" |
In a world where the tenor of civil discourse too often seems to have devolved past the point of anything one might call "civil," Leadership Huntington brings citizens together to explore the issues and resources of their community, participate in thoughtful debate, and consider how best to approach the region's most complex concerns. Started 15 years ago as a partnership of the Huntington Chamber Foundation and the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, the program has been an independent 501(c)3 since 2007. Its unique Flagship Program has yielded over 250 graduates holding leadership roles in every sector - government, business and not-for-profit -- within the Town of Huntington and well beyond. In addition to the nine-month Leadership Huntington Flagship Program, LH has introduced community roundtables, networking and socials, held state of the town events, and hosted hot topic forums designed to develop, connect and engage a broad range of citizens in active community stewardship.
Leadership Huntington is a non-partisan, independent, member supported organization that is exceedingly grateful for the warm support they have received from individuals, local businesses, community organizations and local government. Special gratitude is offered for the long term, consistent and very generous support of Verizon, the H2M Group, Huntington Hospital, National Grid, The Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, and The Town of Huntington.
